Report says Korean LG G4 sales below expectations

Himanshu, 16 July, 2015

Looks like the LG G4 smartphone isn't getting the kind of response that the company had hoped for. According to a report out of South Korea, the handset's sales in the company's home country have been way below expectations so far.

As per the report, LG managed to sell a little over 240,000 units of the handset in the country by the end of June, which translates into 3,500 and 3,800 units a day.

Although that's not particularly bad considering that the device was launched there towards April-end, the figure pales in comparison to the 1.3 million units of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones that Samsung sold approximately during the same period in South Korea.

Also, LG's goal was to sell at-least 70 million smartphones worldwide this year, including 12 million LG G4 units. But the way the things are shaping up in its home market, it looks like the company may have to revise those expectations a bit.
